Seasonal temperatures return this weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) Scattered showers are lingering in portions of East-Middle Georgia ahead of a frontal boundary. These showers are expected to remain light, although they could produce as much as 0.5 inches of rainfall in areas where multiple showers move over a common location. Low pressure over the Northern Great Lakes will gradually work its way to the southeast over the course of the day. As this occurs, troughing aloft and a surface cold front extending from the south of this low will clear Georgia to the east. Showers are expected to come to an end by the early afternoon. Cooler, drier northwesterly flow is working its way into portions of North Georgia in the wake of the front, which will be evident in the morning low temperatures. Lows in areas north of I-85 will start the day in the upper 40s to low 50s while areas to the south will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
