Can Atlanta keep the Dream alive? — Macon Government news

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Despite a 12:30 p.m. tipoff, the Dream will play in front of a sellout crowd for a must-win Game 6 Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries, who can clinch their first WNBA title with a victory. The game was originally set for 8 p.m. at State Farm Arena but was moved to 12:30 p.m. to make room for the Atlanta Hawks’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. The city’s luminaries are coming out in force to support the Dream to force a Game 7.Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is asking the city’s educators and employers to “extend grace” to those watching the Dream play during work hours.“Whether they’re at the game or catching a few moments on their devices, please allow them to be excited to cheer on our home team,” he wrote. “...Be the supportive leaders we know you are. Lean into this historic moment, embrace the excitement and let Atlanta show up for Atlanta!”If the Dream win, they will play Game 7 on Saturday night in California.
